The Honors Division is open to students ages 12-18 with more advanced skills. These students are chosen based on auditions and teacher recommendation, with preference given to older students. Instruments included in the Honors Division are:
Session I: strings, winds, brass, piano and percussion
Session II: strings and piano.
All Honors Division applicants are required to submit a short audition video.
In our google audition form we will ask for a short video from each applicant demonstrating their current ability.
Honors Chamber Orchestra Session 1: Ages 12-18 by audition only
Honors Chamber Orchestra for Strings, Woodwinds, Piano and Percussion
All Honors Chamber Orchestra applicants (age 12-18) are required to audition

Pre-formed chamber groups are welcome to apply.

Students must be very advanced to audition for this select group. Advanced technical ability, musicianship, sight-reading ability and leadership will be focal points for these musicians.
The general level for string players includes:
Key signatures: all
Positions: 1st-6th
Cellists must know tenor clef.
Reading: Advanced high school orchestral repertoire or Suzuki Book Six.
String audition requirements:
-a 3-octave scale slurring 4 notes per bow
-a 2 minute solo piece or excerpt of a piece
-sight-reading if requested later
Piano audition requirements:
-2 major and 2 minor scales (in octaves), played as 16th notes or triplets
-a 2 minute solo piece or excerpt of a piece
-sight-reading if requested later
Winds, Brass and Percussion:
Please contact us for video audition requirements, including orchestral excerpts from this season's repertoire and a brief solo of your choice
Honors Orchestra for Strings and Piano
Students must be very advanced to audition for this select group. Advanced technical ability, sight-reading ability and musicianship emphasis will be the focal points for these musicians.

Honors string players will be sent their orchestra and chamber music ahead of time. Honors students and must come to camp with their music learned. Preparation will be key to a successful camp experience. Please refer to “Schedule” page for specific camp hours.
Advanced woodwind and brass players may audition for a half-day option during Session I. Percussionists may apply for half-day options only. Music will be sent ahead of time and must be well learned before camp starts. Preparation will be key to a successful camp experience. Please refer to the "Schedule" page for specific camp hours
