Your support and contributions will enable us to give the gift of music to a child.
LSMC would greatly appreciate any support offered to help defray the cost of Need-Based scholarships.
Each summer LSMC offers two weeks of exciting musical training to young musicians ages 6- 18 in the Triangle area. Many need financial assistance in order to make it possible to attend. Originally established in 1979 for the purpose of supporting the students and string programs within the Wake County Public school system, LSMC has been committed to bringing nationally acclaimed String Educators to work with local students, many of whom will never have the opportunity to attend a music camp.
LSMC draws Top level Guest Conductors/ Clinicians from around the country to work with its students. All of these conductors have held leadership positions in the American or Australian String Teachers Association. Some alumnae of LSMC have become professional musicians with various organizations including The Brussels Chamber Orchestra and the North Carolina Symphony, while others have become distinguished Music Educators and adjudicators in North Carolina and Virginia.
Interestingly, LSMC has had students from as far away as Germany and France attend its program. LSMC is honored to offer a high quality musical experience to its students and believes the current generation of young people will be cultural ambassadors for future generations.
Roughly a third to a half of the students in the LSMC program receive partial or full scholarship aid. The volume of need has increased, yet LSMC has endeavored not to turn anyone away who has requested scholarship aid. Offering a high caliber summer camp experience is possible only with significant support to the camp’s scholarship fund. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to the Lamar Stringfield Music Camp’s Scholarship Fund. We welcome donations of any amount.
